Eligibility Criteria for Google Summer Internship 2022-23

Applicants should fulfill the following standard for Google Summer Internship 2022-23 :

  • Required Languages: English
  • Eligible Countries: All world countries
  • You should be almost 18 years of age when you apply
  • You should be submitted to or received into a post-secondary educational program, including a college, university, master’s program, Ph.D. program, undergraduate program, licensed coding school, or alike type of program as of May 17, 2022, or have graduated from the program in the middle of December 1, 2021, and May 17, 2022.
  • You should be entitled to work in the country you will reside in during the program.
  • You have not already been accepted as a candidate in GSoC two or more times.

How does Google Summer Internship work?

Students

candidates contact the mentor organizations they want to work with and write up a program proposal for the summer. If accepted, students spend a month integrating with their organizations before the start of coding. Candidates then have 3 months to code, meeting the last date agreed upon with their mentors.

Organizations

Open source projects apply to mentor organizations. Once accepted, organizations discuss possible ideas with candidates and then decide on the proposals they wish to mentor for the summer. They give mentors to assist and guide every candidate through the program.

Mentors

Existing contributors to the institution can select to mentor a candidate project. Mentors and candidates work together to determine suitable milestones and conditions for the summer. Mentor interaction is a necessary part of the program.
